Drinking a cup of black coffee in the morning has become a routine most of the Indonesian people. Besides being able to pump up the spirit of the morning, drinking coffee is also beneficial for reducing the risk of developing diabetes. This health fact is the result of a recent study conducted by scientists in order to celebrate World Diabetes Day. The content of beneficial substances in the coffee glass is already proven health benefits for the body, as long as consumption is not excessive.
Studies conducted by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee housed in Switzerland found the efficacy of caffeine in coffee substances useful as preventing diabetes. In addition to the morning, afternoon is also a great time to drink coffee if you want to obtain optimal benefits.
A cup of coffee can reduce the risk of diabetes by 7-8%. Not only that, the black liquor is also able to reduce the chances of developing cancer, heart disease, hypertension and stroke.
One of the results of the study say that 3-4 cups of coffee a day can reduce the risk of diabetes when compared to drinking less than two cups of coffee a day. The risk reduction is closely related to the efficacy of coffee that is able to improve glucose, energy metabolism and helps the body to burn more calories.
"Coffee can affect insulin sensitivity in the body. A 2014 study of Japanese men suggests that higher coffee consumption may protect against insulin resistance in individuals with normal weight," explains the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee.
According to the investigators' analysis, a decreased risk of type 2 diabetes can occur if a patient regularly drank two cups of coffee every day.
